About.
Hi there
How are you doing?
What's there to say?
Basically my name is Brecht Bovijn and I'm originally from the tropical Belgium.
To be more precise I come from a small village named Ingelmunster,
where I grew up with my three brothers, sister and my strong mother.
Till I was 19 years young I studied human sciences and when my path was almost set to become a psychologist, I took my moms advice and changed direction completely by auditioning for my first academic dance education.
After one year of contemporary dance in Artesis, University of the arts - Antwerp; Belgium, I changed to Codarts, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten - Rotterdam; the Netherlands, to be fully prepared for the professional dance field. Or at least that's what I thought.
After my time there I had the pleasure of going around joining different companies around Germany and also a couple of years in Switzerland, so I was so privileged to be constantly surrounded by beautiful humans to help me experiment and grow.
Dance is a gate to every time a total new and unknown experience.
It's a short getaway from the real world where I can be whoever I desire to be and discover more and more about every layer within myself.
I perceive myself as a curious, passionate and playful person.
My eagerness towards learning new crafts is what brought me from a small Flemish village to places I never imagined living.

My motivation for starting photography was born from my desire to reveal the unique signature of every aspect in this enormous universe, visualized through my perception. The symbiosis of my personal aesthetic juxtaposed with my daily life in the dance profession provides a diverse perspective of life, culture and art.
After getting unexpectetly positive reactions and reflections on the first results,
I got more excited and stimulated in what I was doing.
I want to be as openminded as possible in order to continue my artistic growth
and developping my personal skills.
With my own esthetical point of view, I try to represents my own ideals of beauty, values and believes. It started as a modest hobby, but grew into a very elaborate field of interests.
